Description

The SuperPro JD100MC/120 is a 100 watt, 120 volt halogen bulb in the T4 shape with an E11 threaded screw-in base.

Reading the specification

Three numbers decide whether a bulb fits. T4 is the envelope: a tubular bulb about half an inch across. E11 is the base: a threaded mini candelabra screw base, smaller than the E26 medium base found in household lamps. 100 W at 120 V is the electrical rating.

Before you order

Compare all three against the fixture. A bulb with the right base can still be the wrong choice if the wattage is above what the fixture is rated to carry, and halogen bulbs run hot, so the rating matters.

Handling

Halogen capsules should not be touched with bare fingers. Skin oil left on the quartz creates a hot spot that shortens the life of the bulb, so handle it with a cloth or gloves and wipe it clean if you do touch it.
