Description

The Sta-Rite 24900-0503 is the drain plug for System 3 filters, listed for the 21 inch and 25 inch tanks. It is the genuine Sta-Rite part.

Where it goes

The plug closes the drain port at the base of the filter tank. It comes out when the filter is drained for a cleaning or for winterizing, and it has to go back in and seal before the system can be brought up to pressure again.

Fitment

Sta-Rite lists it across the System 3 range: the sand filters S7S50 and S8S70, the cartridge filters S7M120, S8M150, S7M400 and S8M500, and the DE filters S7D75 and S8D110.

Why people order it

Almost always because the old one did not make it back from the winter. It is a small part that holds up an opening, so a spare on the shelf is worth having.
