Description

The S.R. Smith PT-BASE is the optional installation base for the PT-6000 Power Tower, the 120 volt in, 12 volt out power source for LED and Color Light Stream pool lighting.

Where it is used

The PT-6000 can sit on an existing Fiberstars or S.R. Smith 2000, 2000-AS, 6000 or 6000-AS series fiber illuminator base when it is installed as a retrofit 12 volt power source. S.R. Smith’s installation manual says to purchase part PT-BASE when a new base is required, so it is not packed with the tower.

Installation notes

The manual has the 12 volt conduits enter the base about halfway, with at least 12 inches of 12 volt cord protruding through the top. The supply line uses the smaller front right entry, and the low voltage light lines use the larger center entry. The tower is a 62 watt maximum unit with two 12 volt, 30 watt outputs, a high impact polycarbonate case and ETL listing to UL 379. It must be at least 5 feet from the pool, spa or hot tub, and a qualified electrician has to install it.

Order against part number PT-BASE. The manual’s figure labels the same base FT-BASE, but its text uses PT-BASE as the part to purchase.
