Description

Pentair Stop Leak, part number 48220000, is a one quart bottle of liquid leak sealant for minor leaks in pools, spas, hot tubs, fountains and waterfalls.

How it works

It is a sodium silicate formula. It is added to the water and circulated through the plumbing, where it helps seal small leaks, which can slow water loss and put off a larger repair. The circulation system needs to be running while it works.

Dosing

The dose and method are printed on the container, and the label is the instruction to work from. A larger pool or a larger leak can need more than one quart or more than one treatment.

Before you use it

A sealer is meant for minor losses, and it is not a substitute for repairing major plumbing or structural damage. Where a leak can be traced to a fitting, a cracked union or a failed seal, make that repair. Reach for Stop Leak when the loss is slow and the source cannot be found or reached.
