Description

The Hayward DEX4800DS is a 24 in. short, partial DE filter grid element made for the Pro-Grid DE4820 vertical grid DE filter, a 48 square foot filter.

What it does

A DE grid element holds the coating of diatomaceous earth powder that traps fine debris as pool water passes through it. This element is a short, partial grid, meaning it is one of the shorter sections in the tank rather than a full length grid, with its manifold connection located at the top.

Fit and compatibility

The DEX4800DS is sized for the Hayward Pro-Grid DE4820 vertical grid DE filter, a 48 square foot filter, and measures 24 in. tall.

When to replace it

DE grid elements are generally replaced when the fabric tears, when a grid no longer holds its DE coating evenly, or as part of a full grid set replacement in the DE4820 filter.
